Case in point: a graduate student from my lab is explicitly interested in
employment in Monsanto's basic science program, and looks at this as an
opportunity to sell themselves to Monsanto while getting a bit of a behind-
the-scenes look at how things work there.

For my Davis workshops, I'm hoping a few corporate folk come.  It's great
for networking as well as getting a different perspective on basic and
applied science.  I haven't decided yet if I will have a different pricing
tier, but companies do understand such things and would probably be
amenable to paying for demonstrated value.
