Hi all, I'm writing to introduce myself, and volunteer to help out with future workshops in the Ottawa, Canada area.
I'm a research scientist at Agriculture Canada, working on various aspects of plant taxonomy, conservation, and population genetics. I have been using R extensively since 2004 or so, as well as most of the other tools that Software Carpentry works with (lots of bash, with a smattering of git, python, sql). I've taught a number of workshops on R, and one full-semester grad course on multivariate stats for ecologists that used R exclusively. I'm on the waiting list for your instructor training, and as I mentioned, would be very interested in helping host R workshops here in Ottawa. I'm also an adjunct prof at Carleton University, which is probably a more flexible venue/hosting institution than the federal government ;) Best, Tyler Smith -- plantarum.ca _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.software-carpentry.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss_lists.software-carpentry.org
