Hi,

I am giving a session on "Interactive learning” at the retreat tomorrow (3PM
UTC, hangout link <https://plus.google.com/events/cijqgu6639fvdp7ejot602qq7uc>
and etherpad
<http://pad.software-carpentry.org/swc-instructor-retreat-2015-3PM-UTC>). Part
of the session will involve a 'collaborative parameter exploration’ exercise,
where participants can contribute by installing a program, downloading some
data, and performing a small analysis. Together, we will find the answer to an
important question in computational biology. Don’t worry, I am going to
introduce the subject for non-biologists in an easy to understand way.

I hope many of you will help out with the exercise. In order to do so, you need
a laptop with internet connection. On Linux and probably MACs, you can install
the program yourself. Alternatively, if you have access to one, you can use a
linux/unix server, or use an amazon EC2 instance. I will live-code the latter
solution, so no worries, it will all be become clear tomorrow at 3 PM UTC!

Looking forward,

        Lex Nederbragt
