One issue you should raise during the workshop is portability and long-term planning. Specifically, students should plan for post-graduation. They need to think about what happens when they no longer have access to their current university’s web hosting. GitHub Pages and WordPress both provide great options here for the fledgling amateur web designer.
A few more issues to raise: - You need a current professional headshot – NO EXCEPTIONS - Using templates (either GitHub Pages or WordPress) will add visual appeal while saving time - Well-chosen photos and graphics can really bring a page to life - Do you have a cool dataset?
