Some of us have children. But we don't refer to all of our children by the
same version^Hnumber^Hname.  And to be able to diffferentiate your children
in, say, school, the teacher also uses a common root, the family name.

It's not that different with Emacs 24.5 or gcc 5.3.1 or R 3.2.3.
