I got very good feedback about this, exactly in the sense that they
appreciated getting an idea of which kind of errors/typos you can
expect when doing real work, thus learning from others' mistakes, so to
say.

So, I also think live coding is good for the same reasons, even if I
keep printed out notes nearby. The notes give me the exact flow, and I
refer to them just for the big picture, in chunks, which I code live.
But they are also handy in case I mess up or forget something.
