Hi all, We are seeking remote sites to participate in our upcoming local + remote workshops. We will stream a lesson from 9a-12:30p PST to up to 4 other locations via Google Hangouts. Sites in the past have ranged from 8-35 students. Each site that hosts a workshop should have a room leader in charge of making sure the tech side of things goes well (the majority of tech organization will be handled at UC Davis), and a few helpers to assist with questions.
These workshops are also streamed to YouTube, and will remain there once the lesson is finished. We also annotate the videos in the description to make it easier for people to find a spot they would like clarification on. We've had good experiences in the past: http://ivory.idyll.org/blog/2015-d3.js-annoc.html And you can see our YouTube videos here: d3.js - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIrZjVH0Zcg pydoit - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfD9bWmL-1M Here is a list of our upcoming workshops: http://dib-training.readthedocs.org/en/pub/ Any location that is labeled as ???broadcast??? can support local site. If you are interested in hosting any sites, please respond to Jessica, saying which site you are interested in. Notice the advanced git lesson is happening this Wednesday, so even a small group of interested people could host that. thanks, titus and jaymiz. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.software-carpentry.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss_lists.software-carpentry.org
