Easily if they remember how to use git config and ssh-keygen, which in
my experience nobody does....

I don't use dropbox, so I have no idea about this, but even if you
need to use Dropbox on your desktop and then scp, it's easier than
ssh-keygen to most.

Since I'm continuously saying things to this tune, let me be
superclear: I use git for everything. I would be happier to use hg,
but git is ok (if you have google handy for its cryptic messages). I
am just relating with complains that I have heard from students and
senior scientists who do software because they must for their science,
and I'm conveying them because I think solving them is at the core of
what we teach.
