For me this is what matters:
Research shows that the community and libraries, rather than the technical
features, are most important in determining the languages people choose.

Given that I would add:
Community helps creating a freely available support environment.
Practically, it is a good motivation to use a specific language that have
more questions solved on, e.g., Stackoverflow.
