Hi Everyone,
I am looking for someone to replace me as a co-maintainer for the SWC Python
lesson with Trevor Bekolay. This is an exciting time in the Python lesson - we
have a lot of exercises submitted by instructors in training to augment the
lessons and we are splitting the lesson into a truly novice lesson and an
advance lesson.
The main duties of lesson maintenance include reviewing and merging new pull
requests, tracking issues, keeping the lesson up to date with the standard
template, and helping to guide the direction of the lesson - both in terms of
content and formatting. Additionally, maintainers are part of the lesson
subcommittee that makes decisions regarding the lesson templates, tooling,
release management, and other content-related matters.
If you would like to be considered, please email me separately at abostroem at
gmail.com <http://gmail.com/> by Monday April 11 with the following information:
your name
your GitHub username
A brief statement of interest including:
why you are interested being the python maintainer
any contributions you’ve made to the software carpentry community (including
teaching, PR, emails to discuss, tool development, …)
a few of the top changes you would like to make to the python lessons and why
you think they are important (this can be anything from formatting to content
to …)
Trevor Bekolay and I will evaluate the applications and announce the new
maintainer no later than Monday April 18th.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
-Azalee
