I agree that the original "view or copy" challenge [1] is confusing.  The 
rationale was to explain "views" and to show that taking a single element 
creates a copy of the value whereas taking a slice just creates a view. 

I revised the exercise and show a possible solution in this notebook [2]. I 
will appreciate you feedback.
