Greetings! I'm writing to introduce myself to the SWC `discuss` and request your feedback on some lesson materials that I have been working on.
I'm Zack Brym. I just finished up my PhD at Utah State in computational biology and agroecology. I've been working with Ethan White to develop the ['Data Carpentry for Biologists' semester-long course]( http://www.datacarpentry.org/semester-biology/). I am now also working with Greg Wilson to develop a [data visualization lesson in R for novices](https://swcarpentry.github.io/visualization-novice/). Our goal is to teach both the decision-making process to choose the correct graphic to visualize your data and the implementation of publication quality figures. We are looking for feedback regarding lesson content and delivery. Consider the lesson a draft with outlined episodes and exercises. Is the content relevant and well organized? Does it meet our lesson goals and teaching timeline? Do the exercises evaluate students' understanding of the episode objectives? Please, post your feedback to https://github.com/swcarpentry/visualization-novice/issues/12 or email me directly at [email protected] Thanks! ~Zack ---- Zachary Brym, PhD Utah State University [email protected] zackbrym.weecology.org
