Hi everyone,
Donny Winston, Joey Montoya, and I co-taught a one-day class on "Python
as a Second Language" at LBL on Monday using the material that's in
https://github.com/swcarpentry/python-second-language. What we covered
went well, but it was clear that there was still too much material, so
we've moved the stuff on command-line scripts, performance profiling,
and fetching data from the web into the "Extras" section, and re-jigged
the times based on how long it actually took us to get through the
remainder. If you're thinking of teaching a workshop to people who
already understand loops, conditionals, functions, and arrays in Java,
C++, Perl, MATLAB, or some other language, we'd be very grateful for
your feedback.
