Additionally, it's not that common that researchers get to work forever on 
their own computers. At some point we all have to move to another PC, which 
perhaps we can't install things on, or we have to work on a remote machine 
(e.g. a computing cluster). Git will nearly always be available (although not 
necessary any version more recent than about 2012), while wrappers usually will 
not.
