Although we don’t have a position “community manager” there was previous discussion in the Steering Committee of a way to make it easy for local groups to have their own informational pages. Seemed like a good idea that just needs some momentum. -- - Jason

We don't have a template for that, but it would be a great idea, incorporating some of the ideas Titus suggested. I started a new repository 'carpentries/partners' and an issue about the website templates https://github.com/carpentries/partners/issues/1 It would be great to get examples there of what people are doing and see if we can work towards a template. We do have a Community Calendar that lists SWC/DC events, but not workshops in particular. https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=oseuuoht0tvjbokgg3noh8c47g%40group.calendar.google.com Best, -Tracy On Wed, Oct 19, 2016 at 6:31 AM, C. This Web site could point to a calendar to which they can subscribe, as well as a mailing list. It could also hold workshop-specific information such as recorded videos. And, of course, it should integrate with Eventbrite to some extent. Right now we're managing all of this independently (google calendar, mailman mailing list, manual editing of ReST) and at least people can sometimes find things when they know to look there. But I think ultimately a more managed solution would be good, esp if it can tie into Software Carpentry Central HQ, where Dedicated Teams of staffers can produce aggregate reports across all partners. --- So, umm, if you could get on that and let me know when it's done...? :) Seriously, though, I would love to work from a common template. In theory, at least. best, --titus On Wed, Oct 19, 2016 at 09:24:58AM -0400, Pat Schloss wrote: > We need to develop an online presence for the U of Michigan SWC/DC group.
