Hi,
I really appreciate this discussion, but I have an issue with its origin
and the author's tone. In this present time of exaggerated argument and
hyperbole, I strongly dislike when an author takes anecdotal evidence
and distorts people's opinions/preferences and accuses them of being
ableist.
I checked out both those "style guides for dyslexia" linked in the
article and both include Arial as a recommended font as well. As was
mentioned by Sarah, one of the key aspect is serifs.
Sincerely,
Cam

Thanks, this is a good idea to consider! I created an issue in the
'styles' repository that is the template for the lessons, so we can
make sure to explore the issue further and potentially integrate it
into the template.

This has been a popular idea for a long time, I did a teaching
qualification in 2002 and it was mentioned then. Like many things I
was taught about teaching, the research is *not* that reliable.
Apparently Comic Sans tended to be favoured because is was sans serif,
and therefore less fiddly and confusing to look at, not because it had
any magical qualities of its own.
This paper looks like a reasonable study:

This I don't know, but it sounds like a sensible thing to look at.
