Hi all I thought some of you might be interested in Damien Irving's proposed Python masterclass at which he hopes to embed Python skills learned at a Software Carpentry workshop for atmospheric and ocean science researchers by offering an extra workshop where people can build on their skills using material from those disciplines.
Damien's proposal is here: https://drclimate.wordpress.com/2017/08/16/a-pyaos-masterclass/ Damien is a long time instructor and has been a fantastic advocate for and supporter of Software Carpentry in Australia. He originally tried to address the question of embedding skills within his discipline through this capstone lesson - which would again be an add-on to existing material. His existing capstone lesson is here: http://damienirving.github.io/capstone-oceanography/ I am sure Damien would be keen to get feedback from people about both the masterclass idea and the capstone. He tweets as @DrClimate. regards Belinda Belinda Weaver Community Development Lead Software and Data Carpentry e: [email protected] | p: +61 408 841 882 | t: @cloudaus
