In the Software and Data Carpentry merger, the Requests for Comments are a start of that process.
https://github.com/carpentries/2017Merger There's already been good discussion and comments, and it's important to hear from people with many perspectives. We're fortunate that our community has people all over in the world, in different career stages, in different domains and with all kinds of backgrounds. What does the Carpentries community, workshops, curriculum and instructor training mean to you? What do you want the Carpentries organization and community to be? The RFCs are a chance to provide direction for the next steps. The current round of RFCs is open for comments through tomorrow (October 6th HAST <https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Close+of+RFCs+for+the+Carpentries&iso=20171006T2359&p1=103> ). If this is something you care about, whatever you have to say, that perspective is important! Please add your comments in the issues <https://github.com/carpentries/2017Merger/issues> or via the form <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1O2OzFhxcYGlUu_x3mBeQ-EVzJ1z0Q_-ZuArnmlxvdfs/viewform?edit_requested=true> . Best, -Tracy
