Hi all, We’ve just posted a new application developer job at Caltech Library. You’d be joining a small team creating and managing applications for digital library content, such as articles, research data and software from across Caltech, and archival materials. There is also an opportunity to participate in our Software and Data Carpentry instruction program.
Job Duties 1. Develop software and/or modify existing software for digital library projects, including database services, text and data repositories, indexing and communication services, digital asset conversion services 2. Develop tools for use by Library staff and patrons to solve specific problems, and create and support workflows for accomplishing Library objectives using automated tools 3. Participate in development of software and data management instruction program for library and Institute colleagues 4. Perform coding and analysis to modify and improve web interfaces for library software systems 5. Manage in-house and vendor-hosted (“cloud”) Linux servers, including monitoring, updates, patches, and security issues 6. Manage software packages that support Library user needs (e.g. EZproxy) 7. Collaborate with library staff on product development roadmaps 8.
