the biggest problem is integration of the encryption with the mail 
clients.

for Outlook I think this means buying the commercial PGP package.

S/MIME is already supported in Outlook (and in many other mail clients), 
is there a reason for selecting PGP/GPG instead of S/MIME? (is it that the 
people you are needing to exchange messages with are already using 
PGP/GPG?)
