Here's how it went: I had been in touch with LSF sales folks for quite some time, and had informed them they were up against SGE. After a year of delaying, we hadn't bought LSF, and had rolled out SGE, so now LSF wants to make sure I know the ways in which LSF is better than SGE, to justify the cost and effort. Yesterday, I got a phone call from the LSF sales guy, telling me that SGE isn't free anymore. I thanked him, and I need to look into it, and by googling around, sure enough, there were many news articles on various sources a few weeks ago, when 6.2u6 was released. For whatever reason, the news articles never seemed to get a lot of coverage. Maybe because it's such a small number of people who would care. But by searching for downloads, it's confirmed, if you download 6.2u6, there are new license terms which are different from the license terms for 6.2u5. I plan to call Oracle today, and find out how much it costs. We're currently running 6.2u5, so there's not a lot of motivation to change or upgrade anything. But I'd like to know. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
