You can't do any recording with an earphone jack, since it's an
output only. You'll need to purchase an USB microphone/adapter to
plug into your radio (generally through the rca jacks, or possible
if it doesn't have any the earphone jack) But the input has to go
into the mac via a line in jack, and if you have a mini, then there
isn't one. You'll need to track down a usb mic with line in on
it. I don't know of any, but I'd be willing to bet they do exist.
But, for recording, I highly recomend hijack audio. It's a lot
more accessible than audyssey, and you can hijack multiple audio
programs simultaneously. I've had 3 or four sessions going at the
same time, from ITunes, DVD player, Quicktime, and daisy player
(just to see if 4 programs would cause it a problem) it went off
without a hitchh, and each file that was generated was perfect.
Audyssey can't do that, and even if it could, there's no way vo
would allow you to set it up.
http://www.rogueamoebasoftware.com is where you can find audio
hijack. I bought the pro, but the basic version is just as nice
(though with slightly fewer features)

How can I do this? I want to copy some cassettes and turn them
into MP3s and then put them on CD, or maybe just leave them on the
computer. Do I use Audacity, hook the tape player in through the
headphone jac, or is there another way? I just have the one input
jack that normally headphones go in, and I gues that's the only
way. Any other ideas?
