Well, I don't know. Is it necessary for me to be able to customize
my system the way I like? To answer the question: Yes, it did
work. Shiira seems to work better on some sites than Safari, which
is why I wanted to change it. It also allows the User-Agent header
to be changed, which can give me access to some sites designed for
IE only--my bank's site comes to mind here. I couldn't figure out
how to accomplish that in Safari, though I'm sure there's probably
a way to do this.
