adding information to log in greeting

Is there a way to make my iBook say the date and time?  I already  
have it saying "Hi Jane!  Welcome to Macintosh.  VoiceOver is  
running."  I would like to add "It's whatever the time is on whatever  
the day is."  Is this possible?  If so, can someone show me how?
