David and all,
A danger I run into is that the little round window which signifies
that the speech recognition engine is active can cause some issues
with other activities.
You can eliminate this issue by speaking the command "Minimize the
speech recognition window". This will move the bubble to the Dock
and it should not interfere with other activities anymore. I had
similar problems in the past but this method seems to work. My
sighted son also mentioned that if you double-click on the bubble, it
will minimize it as well. Only useful for sighted or partially
sighted folks though.
