Just write this script--if this is what you want
**Begin Script**
set thedate to current date as text
say thedate
**End Script**

Save it as a script then an app. I always do that.

Go into system preferences, go to accounts, go to login items, find the application you macde and select it. Restart the computer and watch the results.
