Hi, Jane's instructions on how to make RealPlayer the default player for your Mac left omitted one step. After you choose RealPlayer as the default application under "Open with" for a particular mp3 file you also need to select the "Change All" button just below it. That will use RealPlayer to open all files with mp3 extension.
Here are Jane's instructions again, with the added step replacing "Hit OK., I *think*.": When you are at a file type that you want RealPlayer to be the default for, go into its information with command I. Anyhow, go to the open with trangle and expand it. Choose RealPlayer as the application you want to open it. Hit the Change All button just below this under where it says Use this application to opena ll documents like this. Then it's done. >>On Jan 3, 2006, at 6:43 PM, Jane Jordan wrote: >> >>I have RealPlayer as my default for all >> files that I can play with it on the Mac, because I too don't like >> iTunes, yet. Jane and anyone else, You can find these AppleScripts for iTunes with a google search on dougadams missing menu It's the first entry that comes up. The original thread that mentioned the Missing Menu AppleScripts is in the November archives. If you search that archive by thread for the first instance of moriond you can pull up the description and links to specific scripts that were mentioned in those two posts. Thread subject was actually "Got Audible Books to work on the Mac..." And incidentally, today's Google page comes up with "Happy Birthday Louis Braille!" just to the left of the search box.
