Hi, OSXNews is fuly accessible and there is no problem with using that program for news reading. However, my classes require a news reader with SSL secure connection. I don't fully understand all of this other than that I'm loging in to the server to gain access to the news groups each time and I have two or three folders that are set up for posting but not reading. These are where assignments are posted. The University of Phoenix suggested Outlook Express or Onterage from Microsoft or else Thunderbird from Mazilla. None of these work with VO. For now I'm using the PC and Outlook Express but I'm not thrilled with it. I've got this new Mac and I'd like to be using it.
