Mine is at least running as well as before, and I haven't done the permissions yet.

When download had completed, my wife did the restart, then shut down the computer after. She didn't know to to do the permissions, and I haven't gotten around to them either. Come to think about it, I didn't know either till reading about it on the list. But it seems fine so far.

One other thing though, I hadn't downloaded 10.43, well I did but it was the stand alone not via update. And hadn't installed it. I did notice though the verbosity level had gone back to standard though, I had accidently increased it the day before, and hadn't taken it back. That's how I literally know the upgrade stuck in there. But about the only thing I've been messing with has been mail. Just some randum thoughts, yes I know thinking will get me into trouble, I'll take that chance though.

I'll be interested to see what you find. Like others, VO on my machine is severely degraded since the 10.4.4 update. I won't call it an upgrade, because for ME< I don't believe it is. In fact, I am considering re-installing the OS from scratch. Things have gone backward so much.
