When burning CDs and such from the Finder:

1. Insert the CD/DVD you wish to burn to.

2. A virtual item will appear on your Desktop named "Untitled" which is that CD/DVD.

3. You can rename it at this point if you wish.

4. Navigate to the item or items you wish placed on the CD/DVD then Copy and Paste them into your virtual CD/DVD on your Desktop.

5. If you open the CD/DVD on your Desktop and navigate to the Calculate Burn size after you've Pasted items into the CD/DVD, it should let you know how much space is available/used.

6. Once you have all the desired items on the CD/DVD, you can go under the File menu and choose Burn. Alternatively, you can usually simply eject (cmd+e) and the Finder will pipe in with a dialog asking you if you wish to burn the CD/DVd.

You can use this process to build mp3 CDs as well or use iTunes or some other application that works for you to burn mp3 CDs. You will need to use other applications to make copies of DVDs and exact copyies of CDs.

Hope this helps.
