Hi Scott,
At first, I thought that the different methods of shutdown were just
that. but because I discovered this problem, I don't think so.
I'll take this a step further. Because I like to muck around with
systems and take the extra step in proving that a problem really
exists, I even did this. I reinstalled my system two times and in all
cases, the problem with the clear items still existed. I even eraced
the HD completely on one of the reinstalls.
I am going to report this to apple. However, I do have a question.
Are there different departments to report to? If so, what is the best
email address or URL to use. I kind of doubt that this is a VO problem.
Thanks

DEan, that doesn't make sense in a way. I can't imagine why you'd
have more than one type of shutdown. I understand several methods
such as using the menu or keyboard, but if these mean different
things to the os, I wonder if that's documented somewhere and what
the purpose is. If its not, perhaps this is a question for Apple or
a bug report which at times can get issues like this straighten
out. Btw, I'll mention here that the team that sorts through the
bugs are very good about getting back to you and they are looking
into my hub issue and requested additional information. Its nice to
see they are so responsive.
I'll have to try clearing my recent items list and see what happens.

Hello everyone,
More on my problem with the Clear Items Menu. I found a \solution,
but perhaps not the best answer to my problem, just in case anyone
else is having this problem.
There are several types of shutdowns. I have the standard Apple
keyboard, the one that has Escape, F1-F16, Volume keys, Audio
Mute, and Eject along the top. Based on that, I'll list the
different shutdown options.
1. Selecting shutdown from the Apple menu by using VO Keys M.
2. Control-Option-Command-Eject on the upper right of the Apple
keyboard directly above the Number Pad.
3. Holding in on the power button till the unit shuts down. A
forced shutdown.
4. The one that works the best. Control-Eject, then follow the
menu to either Sleep, Shutdown, Restart or Cancel. This means
the Eject key on the upper right of the Apple Keyboard directly
above the Number Pad. This one always works after using the Recent
Items menu and the Clear menu option. After rebooting, the items
are always cleared. But if any of the other shutdown options are
used, it usually doesn't work.
Just thought you might like to know.
