I don't like the fact that it's written in Java since I don't have
that programming language installed and I don't know a lot of users
who have it either since Java virtual machines usually aren't terribly
accessible. Also there is no menhtion of it working with things like
speech-dispatcher or Apple's VoiceOver interface but if it worked with
one of these apps it would be good. But the fact that it's written in
Java which is one of the slower interpretted languages is not  a good
thing. And then there's the fact that some of the voices are under
different licenses than others. Very strange. I might download this
though and take a look at the performance and some of the docs. More
opensource speech synths is a good thing.
