Hi richard,

Often when installing software you will need to use the actual mouse- click as opposed to the default action mouse click. In VO, when you use VO keys+space bar, this performs the "default action" for the given item. In many cases this is a mouse-click and in other cases it could be the Open command or some such animal. The actual mouse- click is performed by VO keys+shift+space bar which will give you a sort of click noise as you press the combination. In most cases when the default action does not work this mouse-click will. In reference to your question on progress indicators, that is dependent on the specific installer application. some do, some don't give you indications of their progress. I imagine that the Yahoo installer did not because most installer apps that require the mouse-click do not provide such feedback to VO.

Hope this helps.
