Hi Dennis,
Welcome to the Mac! We're building in variable speed playback for the
next version of katieplayer. We know that variable speed is a
critical feature for blind and VI readers. Fortunately, the variable
speed capability is built into Mac OS X...and we can "call" into that.
I don't want this to turn into a commercial for katieplayer, but here
are development next steps, including variable speed:

Hope the info helps,

Hello
I am new to the Mac but very impressed :)
I have tried the trial version of Katie Daisy player and wonder if
the registered version includes variable reading speed/pitch as
opposed to system speed? I find it somewhat irksome listening to
books at 'normal' speed and hope this is supported.
Any help welcomed, apologies if this is a little ot for the list.

Oh, hey there. I think you're the one I have been emailing with
ona regular basis--you worked with me on KatiePlayer on my Mac.
Still working great, even after the upgrade. Yes, I imagine it
is time-consuming, but I'm glad you are on the list.

Hi All,
I'm one of the katieplayer developers and happy to contribute to
any discussions regarding the katieplayer software. We still
provide direct support to registered users, of course...but
sometimes posting a difficulty, concern or recommendation
publicly leads to a valuable public discussion. I might also be
able to help with some succinct answers to support questions
I've seen posted here. katieplayer development, support and
outreach is very time consuming but I'll try to make myself
available here often...daily, if possible.
Kind regards,
Joe W.
