Joe, well its gets uglier. I did try typing some stuff into the
search box and nothing seemed to happen. I instead of hearing "html"
where I'd interact and read, I get "scroll area" which I can't
interact with. I also went over to my wife's Mini and the exact same
problem. Now I can't honestly say what happen, but I'm nearly sure I
used help in the last day or so to look u soem stuff. I'm completely
stumpped with this one. I thought at first upgrading to 10.4.5 had
something to do with it, but that was more than a week ago. The fact
its happening on her box as well has me really curious and I loged in
as her to see if there's any difference and not at all. What's so odd
is if I go to the library I can open and access some files, but not
the Mac help file. What is even more curious and this is the same on
her Mini, when I first open help with shift+command+? I don't see the
usual "html" and instead see the "scroll area" which is odd.

Hi Scott,
Actually, the Help Viewer *is* basically a mini web browser. What
happens if you enter something in the "search text field" and press
'Return'?

Folks, I went into help intending to look something up. I got the
usual open screen and I guess this help viewer is like a miny web
browser or something. In any case clicking on any link accept the
Apple web site at the top yields no results. I was trying for
example to bring up the index, but using the VO spacebar combo,
enter, or even the physical mouse does nothing. The help VIewer
needs help. grin
Does anyone have any ideas?
