usb to serial adapter

Folks, I think someone had tried and was successful with a usb to  
serial adapter. I am interested in which one this was. I had loaded  
virtual pc on my G5 and what I wanted to try was to take some of the  
load off by havin the screen reader go through an external  
doubletalk. I still don't expect super success, but I want to see if  
this would work in order to determine if I can make it useful enough  
to avoid dragging a laptop home when I am teleworking. Yeah ok call  
me lazy, but its bring the windows laptop or the Mac, now which would  
you choose...grin
