No,m it's that text box in Safari that I am trying to get to. The
only way I can do it is with command-l then tab. I was wondering if
there was a quicker way. I just can't seem to get it to work any
other way.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to do, but you don't
have to go into google to search it. In your safari window there's
a "search google" text field and if you enter your search term
there and hit enter you go right to the findings page in safari.
But maybe i'm missing something and there's a reason you want to do
it directly in google.
