I finally got it. It has been operator error all along. This is the vo getting started book that greg put together.

Thanks for all the help and thanks for your understanding. I knew I had to bbe doing something rong. By the way, books is in documents right where it belongs. I wonder if a sample book could be packed with the install so people have something to work with right away.

I'm listening as I write.

Joe,

The folder is currently empty, but I cannot find the list with VO.

I'll put something in it and see.

katieplayer looks for just an NCC - so as long as that is there, katieplayer should see the book. katieplayer supports auto-loading of a DAISY book mounted from any any attached CD drive (request of RFBD) and loading of books from a preset "books" folder - content of books folder presented to user as a VO navigable list dialog.

Hi David,

I was looking for general responses anyway...thanks for posting. Do you know offhand how the DAISY books on your hard drive were authored i.e. where are they from?

I'm not travis, but Joe, I was unable to get my daisy books on the hard drive to play. I kept getting a no book found message.

Thanks Travis. From our perspective, the most critical missing feature for a blind person using the software is audio speed up and slow down. Second in line is having the package work seamlessly with Mac OS 10 accessibility features like VoiceOver (vs. self-voicing). Outside of the preceding, are there other issues with the software which you would say would prevent the software from being useful to a blind person?

Hi folks,

Is anyone on the list besides Jane regularly using the katieplayer software?
