I just retried both those sliders in energy saver. At least on my  
computer, there was no finnicky behavior; it was donsistent so I  
can't hazard a guess as to why there is a problem for you. I do know  
that each of us have sometimes had problems that some others could  
replicate. So I'm nopt disregarding you rexperience, just saying  
there is no inconsistent behavior here.
