SLIP for the Mac

Hello, I understand that they discontinued the Windows Media Player for 
the Mac, and have replaced with SLIP for the Mac.  My question is, is 
it easier to install and is the installation pretty straightforward?  I 
am a subscriber to Major League Baseball's total package--Game Day 
Audio and MLB TV, and I just called tech support at MLB, and learned 
that they no longer are supported by Real Player.  Real Player was such 
a good player for the Mac, because it was fairly easy to install and I 
got it up and running.  Any tips on how to install SLIP would be
