David, do you have the same problem as me?
If I listen to a file, just let it play, and I try to do anythingthat
involves VoiceOver, the audio cuts off. Annoying. Is there a way to
fix this, do you think?

Hi All,
I go to apple mac os x downloads when I want something for my mac
and I have yet to fail to find what I am looking for even if I
don't know its name. For instance, I found audacity there and was
looking for an app to convert text files to audio and found lips.
It's easy to use, freeware and accessible. Preferences are dimmed
for some reason and there's no documentation but it will accept
typed and pasted text and convert/export to .aiff in any Mac os x
voice and its rate is adjustable. It lacks the expression of VO
but I think that has to do with the fact that it uses say for its
output.
If you're looking for a quick way to convert text into an audio
file, give lips a whirl from the Mac os x downloads page in the
audio section.
