Hello everyone.
I've finally gotten something working that I think you'll find interesting. I've taken one of the apple samples from the adc, and made it completely accessible with a bit of help from a friend who was visiting this weekend. The program is a dvd player, and while it doesn't give you the name of the dvd like apple's dvd player does, it does give you 100% control over the control of playing your dvd the way you want it played.
There's actually two windows when you run the softcon dvd player.
One is the viewing window, where he movies are shown, the other one is where the controls are kept. You can play, pause, stop, and eject the disk. You can also scan forward/backword, go forward/backward by scene, set and go to bookmarks, and there's even status items to tell you what title number is playing, and which scene within that title you're on. There's also a toggle display there giving either the elapsed time of the dvd's current selection, or if you click this time display (use a shift-control-command-space bar) you'll change it to how much time is left in the current title. I know most of these options are there too in the apple provided dvd player, but as far as I know, we can't get at these kinds of things. With this player, you can see everything on it, and there's even a button to change camera angle if the current title supports it. Volume control is there too, and the menu/title button will take you back to the selection menu so you can choose something else to watch. Give it a try, and let me know what you'd like to see added to it, or if you find something that doesn't work. For the moment, I'm going to try to add a few things to it, but not much of the interface will change, since XTools is such a pain to work with. I may add additional features if they can be added though w/o too much difficulty. Straight code isn't a problem, only interface items, so download it, and give it a try.

Thanks, and I certainly hope this helps someone.
