Interesting indeed for being the minimalist I am, I figure it burns
more if it's checked so I have always unchecked it.

Under System Preferences and under Universal Access and under
Keyboard you will find among other options for sticky keys this
option. This is a check box for weather or not key presses are shown
on the screen. I unchecked this option and what the heck. Suddenly,
VO keeps up with whatever I am typing quite nicely.
