Funny, I don't watch much tv if any, but my wife and kid sure do and I don't recall them ever mentioning any Apple commercials. Maybe they don't show them around here.grin

One thing here. There have been television advertisements for Macs. A bunch of them, actually. Yes, iPod has been their focus, but they do push

Future developments Couple comments here.

Advertising.
Have you seen any commercials for an Apple computer in the last 3
years? I'll tell you the answer. It's no. All marketing and advertising is focused on iPod. It has been for 3 years! As an apple devotee, it seems to be working. They have probably sold more iPods than they ever have of
computers!

Philosophy.
You shouldn't have to advertise accessibility since all computers
should be accessible for free. And with no advertising help, Voice Over is
probably already the most widely available screen reader in the world.
Since every machine with 10.4 in the world has it! You can walk into any
Apple store in the world, turn on voice over on a demo machine and get
necessary info.... not to mention schools, and lord knows Libraries should be on that bus as well! When was the last time you walked into a Public building and had instant access to any machine available for public use?
It's a brave new world out there folks!

Conferences.
I was at CSUN. I was that guy in front of the room trying to cram a
full day tutorial on VoiceOver into 2 hours, and in one sad instance
1 hour! But it was fun all the same. NFB & ACB should be on the list. I will take word to the Apple folks I know because I want to get there to show this stuff off! For future reference for folks who don't know CSUN, is
actually C S U N (California State University
Norridge) conference.

Future.
Keep your eyes open and help those programmers at Apple get it
right! Use that option in the Application menu for reporting bugs or
providing feedback often and accurately! It's the only way VoiceOver will
get perfect.

Sean Tikkun
