I plan to purchase my first mac later this year. i was planning to continue
using
my xp machine for awhile while I became comfortable with the mac. As far as
virus
and spyware goes, if you take precautions and secure xp you will have no
problems.
I have yet to experience one virus attack or any other malware destroying my xp
machine.
I am looking forward to learning unix. I have already started reading books on
the
mac / unix so I will be prepared for my new challenge.
remember no one is making anyone use xp but it will be an option for those who
want
the experience.
