OK. I suppose it would be even more tolerable if you knew the
situation was only temporary. Here's the tentative plan: The first
Cocoa version would support "text-only" books like the DAISY 3 books
distributed by Bookshare (much of this code is already complete).
We'd continue to offer the "legacy" version of katieplayer (with some
enhancements) for playback of DAISY 2 content like RFBD's. Ultimately
we'd offer an all-in-one Cocoa solution at the same $18 price point.
I'm not going to blab about release dates but it's very possible the
all-in-one solution could be available by the end of the year...at
which point we'd shelve the legacy version of katieplayer or offer it
for free. That seems to be the plan.
