Folks

I have a new version of DTBmaker which I will release shortly. Soon
after that I will update the online version. Here is some of it's new
features:

1. Simplified markup. DTBmaker will handle normal html documents with
heading for navigation, <p> for phases, be they paragraphs or whole
chapters and <pagenum> for page numbers. So there is no more need to
have <div> tags around your content to be recorded.

2. A stand alone version form MacOSX with a VoiceOver compatible cocoa
interface.

3. The ability to produce pre-record audio into DTB using SSML <audio> tag.

4. support for phase navigation.

5. Support for page navigation by using the <pagenum> tag.

6. Ability to build audio books from Bookshare.org HTML versions of
book. You will need to save the HTML version of the Bookshare book
when prompted by the Bookshare unpacking program.

7. Ability to produce an audio book from Project Gutenberg HTML text.

8. Books produced will be able to be stored online and retrieved with
idair or similar programs that can access Daisy books from
web-servers. This is due to the small size of each recording as each
paragraph is a separate MP3 file. You can make fewer file by simply
surounding bigger areas with <p></p> tags.

As of right now this version of DTBmaker produces only 2.02 books
Daisy/NISO 3 books will come later and likely will be a separate
script.

Also the script will require a voice from Cepstral (www.cepstral.com)
because of the extensive use of the swift command line program not
only to record voices but to access the SSML system to deal with
recorded files in pre-recorded books.
