Hi Cheryl. Please don't missunderstand me ... I'm aware that you were trying to be helpful and I appreciate it. Perhaps I didn't come across too well. So let me just clarify things. Yes, I did re- install, and checked my actual download. I have bno idea what's going on here. Even if I click on an actual MP3 file from within VLC, of course, it just tells me that the file cannot be opened. The files play fine using other applications from within Windows. I know, it's a different ball-game ... but I'd have thought that if the files themselves were damaged, then they just wouldn't play. I don't download MP3, I create all my own stuff from my own extensive CD collection. Having worked in radio, I have thousands upon thousands of music CD's, <smile>. So this one's got me beat. But I'll stick at it ... it's a problem I am very keen to resolve.
