A further question: do users still have to download stuffit
separately on
the new Macs to unzip (other) software distributions? That was one of
the early discussion issues for third party software, since Apple had
stopped including stuffit when the first Mac minis were sold.
Also, slightly off-topic, but to search the Discuss list for old
entries
(since early December 2005) I've been using the Mail Archive Search
facility for this list at:
http://64.62.136.189/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/
This provides a search option even if you're not on the subscription
list (with your own copies of searchable emails or digests), and
covers
the case where you're using another computer and web browser to
find an article -- say, when you're in the Apple Store and can't
remember
a specific point you wanted to ask about that was covered in the
Discuss archives.
