No I wasn't asking you, I was merely um how do you say it, asking a retorical question. No, from my conversations with Apple, you can not purchase another Apple Care plan once the 3 years are up. I've asked and unless this has changed in the last few days, the answer is no, so there's your answer.

Oh? Acording to Apple you can not so either they have changed this
recently or their sales and technical staff do not know this. Did you
find this information on the Web? I think it would be worth it, I
mean it would carry you out to a six full years and that would be
well worth the price assuming they would cover tired old hardware;
when the drive failes etc.

No sir, it is not, once he 3 years is up, your done. You do have 1
year after the purchase date in which to purchase the Apple Care
plan, but it is retroactive back to the date when the Mac was
purchased.

I paid $169 for my iMacs, and I believe $149 for the Mini.
Notebooks start about $200, but check the Apple site, http://
www.apple.com for accurate pricing or of course you can call them

Hi
I bought it with my iBook as part of the package, so I don't
recall the cost. It is for 3 years and no yearly fee. I guess
you could call Apple to find out about the package, what it
currently includes and the price. I bought my iBook last May.

Something similar happened to me. I had to send my iBook in for repairs, and it was back pretty fast. Do you think ... it owuld
be a
bad idea to send it in for basic maintenance, like I can do
with my
BrailleNote? I have to send it n for Braille display repairs and cleaning, and they check for other problems, too. WouldApple do
the
same thing, or do I have to have a specific issue?

 Hi folks,
I know the subject of tech support and the like has come up
here. I wanted to share an experience I had last week.

Two weeks ago, my iBook suddenly locked up and would not
start. Fortunately, I was at a friend's house who is a very
experienced Mac user and is one of the major influences in my
switch from Windows to the Mac. He gave the unit a thorough
look
and he suggested that it was a good idea to contact Apple. His
feeling was that there was some kind of a hardware problem.

I contacted Apple and went through a series of experiments
directed by the tech support person. Basically, it was the same
things my friend had done, but it confirmed what we already
suspected. There was definitely some kind of hardware issue that
was preventing any power from getting to the board.

So, because I have Apple Care, I received a box directly
from
Apple the very next day, shipped the unit to Apple and,
within 48
hours, I had my fully functioning iBook back in my possession.
Yes, folks, the cost of buying Apple Care is worth it. I didn't
pay a dime to get my unit repaired. I can relay a few
stories in
regard to problems I've had with Window's laptops and dealing
with
specific companies that went far differently, so I'm more than
satisfied with how Apple handled my particular situation.
